One of the great things about the internet is that you can order pretty much anything your heart desires and have it shipped directly to your doorstep – succulents included! Woohoo!!
Maybe you are located somewhere where your local garden center doesn’t have succulents, or maybe they just don’t have a good selection. Maybe you want to send a succulent to a friend who’s just catching the succulent bug, or maybe you’d like to send someone a thoughtful gift… Whatever the case may be, there are so many different sources for purchasing succulents online these days it can be pretty overwhelming to choose!
Our favorite place to buy succulents online is Leaf and Clay!
When we first started out designing with succulents, the founders of Leaf and Clay, Nick and Lauren, reached out to us to collaborate. We contributed a few blog posts to their site before they launched their online shop, and they have been such kind-hearted friends in the plant community since. They also happen to be a sibling run business, just like us, which we think is pretty rad!
In terms of quality and ease of navigation, their site offers the best succulent buying experience. You can browse based on plant type, size, and color. And they carry popular types of Echeveria, Crassula, and Euphorbia’s, in addition to some pretty awesome cacti and low light options too. If bright colors, rare cultivars, and specimen plants are what you’re in the market for then consider their selection the best of the best.
Based in Southern California, their web based succulent shop, serving customers nationwide, is our go-to resource for succulent shopping online.
Another unique service they provide is the Plant Mail Club. This subscription based plan allows you to receive a 3 pack of 2.5″ succulents on a monthly, every 3 months, or 6 month basis.
They even have a 100% satisfaction guarantee, so in the rare event your plants arrive damage, etc., they’ll be sure to make it right – Big thumbs up in our book!
In addition to all of this, they have an awesome collection of curated planters available to purchase as well. Check them out here.
Whenever you would like to buy succulents online, in our opinion you can’t go wrong with Leaf and Clay!!

I live in an area with a hot climate and it’s very dusty. I am looking for the best succulent to use as ground cover. It has to be heat tolerant, drought resistant, and it should also tolerate a little bit of foot traffic (but that’s the first to go if I cannot have all three).
